Role overview

Sopra Steria is recruiting for a Consulting Manager to join our growing consultancy team within our Government sector. We are a successful, growing team with the freedom to set our own direction and a determination to build sustainable business by putting our clients' success first.

The Consulting Manager will be experienced in digital transformation from design to delivery; delivering both customer and organisational benefits. You will be working with C-Level client stakeholders and able to provide digital strategy and transformation consultancy to clients in the local government sector. Ideally, you will hold experience in delivering transformation using a Service Design/Design Thinking mindset.

The Consulting Managers will be responsible for creating and delivering client engagements that deliver high value outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bring public sector knowledge and understanding of the key business and digital technology issues to help our clients meet their key challenges and opportunities.
  • Lead and manage a work-stream, medium scale project or proposal in line with agreed scope, time and financial measure in order to achieve revenue targets and high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams of Consultants, User Researchers, UX and UI Designers and Developers to design and deliver simple, accessible and easy to use services and organisational efficiency
  • Instil project teams with the confidence and discipline to explore innovative design solutions while respecting client deadlines and legislative requirements
  • Promote design thinking and advocate design principles and best practices
  • Lead customers in workshops, focus groups and field studies to map, measure and improve their services
  • Be seen as a prominent member of the Sopra Steria consulting brand, both by clients and more widely through networks and events.
  • Proactively look to secure follow on work with clients in order to deliver high levels of customer satisfaction and additional revenue.
  • Manage the delivery of your own and your team's work to ensure we meet required standards and go beyond this to delight our clients.
  • Mentor junior members of the team
  • Solid sector experience and strong work samples which demonstrate your process and the finished project

Essential skills

A track record of delivering digital transformation consulting within local government or public sector

Evidence of design thinking outputs and best practices

Delivering value to businesses through digital transformation initiatives.

Experience of implementing and delivering projects and programmes

Understanding of the products, processes, systems and players in the government sector.

Strong knowledge of the current issues within the market including digital transformation, operational improvement, business retention, product innovation.

Experience of describing and positioning propositions that embrace all domains of the client's operating model including a business processes, organisational change and information technology.

Ability to define business operating strategies and solutions, and the benefits these deliver.

Presentation of business solutions to client executives in formal presentations, question and answer sessions and on reference visits.

Experience of developing service propositions and taking these to market.

Experience of team building, staff support and development including coaching/mentoring.

Security clearance

The successful candidate will be required to go through a SC Security Clearance.
