Commercial Insurance Consultant- Hours: 8:30- 5:00 - Mon- Fri, 8:30- 12:30 Sat

Our client is one of the UK's largest independent insurance groups and have been established for over 50 years. They are looking for an experienced commercial insurance consultant to join their team.

Job Purpose

To start up, grow and eventually manage a team of insurance consultants on the commercial insurance desk. To be an outstanding consultant, exceed client expectations and help deliver our client's mission statement.


To develop a positive, trusting and friendly relationships with clients, making the client their choice for insurance, and to recommend our client to their colleagues, and other local companies.

  • Taking incoming client calls regarding commercial insurance policies such as:

o Builders, contractor's and Company Directors

o Professional business Indemnity

o Fleet insurance

o Personal, Public and Employers liability

  • Taking the appropriate time to understand client's needs
  • Following up leads from other consultants in the office
  • Making outbound B2B calls to new, prospective, existing and former clients
  • Continually develop own knowledge of the insurance industry, maintaining an up to date knowledge of the market, Client policies and procedures
  • Constantly identify new ways to raise performance including agreeing a broadening personal self-development plan.
  • Striving to deliver an exceptional level of client care and doing what you said you would and at the time you agreed with the client

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Products sold by our client including features and benefits
  • End-to-end insurance process
  • Legal and regulatory requirements for example (but not limited to); client terms of business, compliant sales cycle, treating customers fairly, DPA, money laundering,
  • Aware of FCA regulation changes
  • Market and industry knowledge - new developments in the industry
  • Has ideally worked in a senior consultant/ supervisor/ team leader position

The successful candidate will

  • Have strong communication skills, an enthusiastic sales ability
  • Thrives at working in a fast-paced environment
  • Be self-motivated and highly driven
  • Have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a sales environment


  • Certificate in Insurance qualification and strive for continuous learning
