Our client is a leading provider of fabrication services for a diverse range of sectors. Their work includes bespoke, one off pieces as well as higher volume projects. Due to growth they now require a Supply Chain and Procurement Manager.

This position will report to the Director & to the Group Supply Chain & Procurement Manager.

The Role

Control the supplier pool
Set up of contracts/Purchase Orders / SLAs
Project Purchase: Purchase and follow up (BOM / Call-off)
Purchase/hire and follow up of site materials (Price/quality),
Flag up extreme usages + search for solutions
Propose investments vs hire
Check and approval of invoices (PO/SLAs/Contracts).

Follow up on delivery of project materials
To set up a Purchase Plan; Call off and BOM
Deliver input at management review meetings
Organise the number of workers and division of tasks within the department

Deliver input on engineering projects
Start up and follow up of purchase/hire contracts
Warehouse management
Management of call off of different projects;
Set up call off with engineering manager and project manager
Weekly call off reports to all critical suppliers
Update production team on critical deliveries

The Person

Previous experience of managing the supply chain and buying function in a heavy engineering environment is key
Experience of purchasing, internal purchasing procedures and administrative order processing
Microsoft Office, ERP, Internet/Intranet
Procedures with regards to the internal safety policy: Safety policy (VCA), quality (ISO)
Work according to technical specifications, delivered by the requestor and fixed purchasing procedures
Draw up requests for quotation
Assessing the received quotations according to the internal purchasing procedure
Selecting the supplier, in agreement with the requestor and process the purchasing orders
Determine when and how action has to be taken towards the suppliers in case of disruptions
Determine the purchasing price of non-current materials

Responsible for:
The evaluation of the supply base
Managing alternative suppliers
Management policy and review
Project and site purchasing
Final approval (before general manager/PM) of invoices
Plant hire, off hire and breakdown management
Follow up of waste management & fuel usage on site
Supply chain of projects on the yard
Department compliance of safety rules
Supervises Warehouse Supervisor, Procurement officer, Supply chain officer
