Our client is a rapidly growing operational improvement consultancy with an impressive reputation across the defence, aerospace, consumer, healthcare, manufacturing, local government and private equity sectors. They are growing fast and aiming to continue growing at 25% annually over the coming years.

Their Business Technology team implement the IT which underpin the success of their consultancy projects.

Their systems help drive improvement anywhere from operating theatres to 24/7 production lines. Their Internal IT team deliver the technology which supports their consultants. They are aiming to implement a number of key projects over the next five years to match and build on their business growth.

The role:

You’ll be working closely with their clients and key stakeholders to understand business processes, recommend improvements and detail technical requirements.

For the most part you’ll be working onsite with key people from our clients’ businesses and our consultancy teams. You’ll be an important part of the process in understanding business processes and where technology can help make them more effective.

You’ll also be helping their business turn its own IT ambitions into tangible, deliverable and successful projects.

As a new role in a fast growing business, they are looking for someone who will challenge and expand what this role can deliver.


• Lead our requirements discovery process, working with key stakeholders to understand and analyse technology and business process needs

• Develop our business capability so our consultants can carry our initial business analysis and identify technical opportunities in discussions with clients

• Assist in building business cases with cost benefit analysis to help prioritise information systems spending and project scopes

• Transform business needs and ambitions into tangible, deliverable technical requirements

• Identify and assess third party technology suppliers who can match our needs

• Communicate with and support the technology teams to ensure project delivery matches business expectation

• Research new technologies against the context of our longer term business strategy


• Able to run requirements discovery workshops and discussions

• A good awareness of information systems, technologies and concepts

• Engagement with senior business users and clients to build confidence and maximise their contribution to the process

• Able to negotiate priorities, provide productive challenge and resolve conflicts between stakeholders

• Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

• Self-starter, who will own the quality and delivery of their work


• A degree level qualification in a relevant technology or business field

• A recognised business analysis qualification

• Familiarity with agile methodologies

• Experience working in a consultancy or service focused organisation


• Their clients work across the UK. As such, travel and time away from home will be necessary.
