Head of Consulting Services

Within the Professional Services organization, the Head of Consulting Services is accountable to defining, building and leading the Travelport Consulting Services Practice, with a mission of establishing Travelport reputation in the market as a technology partner.

Role Accountability:
The Head of Consulting Services Practice goal is to define and run the practice/portfolio offering. The role is ~80% internally focused and ~20% client facing and is accountable for:

  • Defining the Consulting Services scope, deliverables, business model and marketing approach in consideration of the Market needs and the Competitors consulting offering.
  • Lead Consulting Services Marketing campaigns
  • Developing repeatable and predictable process and framework based on industry and professional best practices
  • Mapping the existing TVP Consulting Services capabilities across the different Regions and Line of Business, grouping the resources into a single "virtual team" and running the Practice by sharing knowledge, methodology, solutions, learnings, strategy and priorities.
  • Working with the Agency leadership team to consolidate the demands, validate the supply (the existing consultant resources across the different LoB) and whenever possible prioritizing the resources allocation matching the Agency Commerce strategy.
  • Quantifying the Consulting Services business value realization (# segments, market share, client satisfaction, etc) and building the business case driving the Consulting Services development (marketing campaigns, case studies, additional resources hiring, etc.)

Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:

The candidate must have a significant experience in building, running and marketing a consulting service practice, ideally coming from a major Consulting Technology firm. Travel industry knowledge is highly preferred but not mandatory. A strong marketing experience is also desirable.

The candidate should be able to:

  • Lead a global team in a highly matrixed ("dotted line") environment
  • Build strong relationships with internal Travelport stakeholders
  • attract, build and develop talent, drive team innovation and foster collaboration
  • Understand the internal and external client business factors impacting projects
  • Understand the management consulting environment (within Travelport industry) and its commercial aspects
  • Determine the scope of client assignments, manage client and other stakeholders' expectations, engage expertise from other part of the organization as appropriate
  • Manage client assignments effectively, deliver timely solutions while balancing priorities and managing time effectively.
  • Capture and share knowledge in a structured way
  • Select and uses appropriate tools and consulting methodologies
  • Apply analytical and pro-active thinking to ensure robust and appropriate client solutions
  • Define risk criteria, identify, mitigate and manage risks and outcomes, define quality standards, ensuring quality of delivery
  • Operate with professionalism and integrity in all aspects of role including conduct adhering to codes of practice and working in the best interests of the Client and Travelport
  • Take and maintains responsibility for actions and impact of selected course of action on others.
  • handle complexity in the Travelport operating environment and interact effectively with other to achieve desired outcomes.

Organizational Chart

The role will report to the Head of Professional Services and will lead a virtual team of Consultants within their respective organizations. The role will be closely aligned to the head of Prime Engagement accountable to run the "prime engagement practice"
